REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIREBON -- Gerindra Party general chairman Prabowo Subianto said he would run in 2019 presidential election if the people needed him. He asserted that he will never be pessimistic in guarding the progress of this nation.

"If the people still need me, of course as a patriot, I must be ready to take the duty," said Prabowo on Wednesday (March 28).

Prabowo said Indonesia is a big and rich country. Many other countries targeted Indonesia to be toyed. For centuries, foreign countries have been trying to do so.

"They play our leaders, where they are played, Prabowo added.

Prabowo asserted leaders and figures in Indonesia must realize there are still many weaknesses in the country. He claimed to have understand the political situation in Indonesia.

In addition, Prabowo also advised candidates in 2018 regional elections that carried by Gerindra Party to be honest. He stated, people in Indonesia needed sincere and devoted leaders.

"If someone want to be a leader, it's not wrong, but they must be honest," Prabowo added.
