REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is today expected to name a new chief of the National Narcotic Agency (BNN) to succeed Commissioner General Budi Waseso, who will retire in March.
The president will likely announce the name of the new BNN chief today, Johan Budi, the presidential spokesman, noted here, Wednesday.
The head of state had received a proposal containing three names of the BNN chief candidates submitted by the Indonesian Police chief, he added.
"He will select one of the three names," he remarked.
President Jokowi's criteria for BNN chief is that the candidate should possess a high degree of professionalism and integrity and be good and brave, he stated.
Budi said he was unsure when the new BNN chief will be officially installed.
