REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Head of Indonesia Police General Tito Karnavian has given assurance on the country's security situation to investors wishing to invest in the country.

"Yes, indeed there are problems such as in Marawi, South Philippines, challenges in Papua, or terrorism in Southeast Asia as well as conflict in Myanmar. However, there are no states involved in a war in Southeast Asia," Tito said here on Monday.

According to Tito, Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia, is at present the most secure area in the world because there is no conflict between countries in the region.

The stable political situation in Southeast Asia should provide assurance for investors wishing to invest in the region, he added.

The General said the security stability is supported by ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) that has maintained dialogue among countries in the region so far.

Regarding Indonesia Tito said it is potential to become a country with strongest economic development in the world.

"We have big population that can be a potential human resource, as well as abundance of natural resources and vast geography (to support it)," Tito explained.

The key to realizing it, said Tito, is political and security stability.
