REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Executive Director of Indonesia Political Review, Ujang Komarudin revealed some possibilities that made incident of Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander, Gatot Nurmayanto denied to entry the United States (US).

He guessed it was related to Gatot's image who is close to Islam and Muslims communities.

"We already knew since US President Donald Trump made his campaign, he has shown an anti-Islam stance, so the indication can be seen from that," Ujang said on Tuesday (October 24).

He also said the US might prevent someone to enter that country, without any important and critical reason. Ujang believed it was related to their security issue and kind of that.

More over, he continued, Gatot showed his support to a serial rally to defend Islam (Aksi Bela Islam). According to Ujang, group who held the rally was labeled as hard-line Islam by several countries, including US.

Ujang also revealed another possibility. He said US has decided to make Gatot could not enter that superpower country as a 'shock therapy' to Indonesia.

"During the leadership of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Indonesia is more oriented towards to China, so it could be the shock therapy to our country," he added.

General Nurmantyo was reported to have been stopped by the US Custom and Border Protection before boarding on a commercial flight from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta on Saturday.

It was reported that Nurmantyo and his delegation were not allowed to enter US territory by the US Custom and Border Protection.

Nurmantyo was originally planned to attend Chiefs of Defense Conference on Country Violent Extremist Organization (VEOs) to be held in Washington DC on Oct 23-24 at the invitation of chairman of the joint chiefs of staff General Joseph F. Durford, Jr.
