REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The governments of Indonesia and Singapore will discuss four issues, one of which is digital economy, during a bilateral meeting between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong here on Thursday.

"At least four issues, including digital economy, will be raised in the bilateral meeting on Thursday," Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi remarked in Singapore on Wednesday.

She mentioned that the four issues are about investment, tourism, energy, and certainly the digital economy.

According to her, Singapore is the largest partner for investment, and therefore, the investment in Kendal Industrial Estate (KIK) which was agreed upon during the retreat leader in 2016 in Kendal, Central Java, will be discussed in the bilateral meeting of Jokowi and Lee.

"The development of KIK is quite good, and the number of investors in that project last year was around 25 but now it rose to 30, with some 41 others are lining up to join the Kendal Industrial Estate project," she said.

In addition, in accordance with the direction of President Jokowi, there will also be "vocational school" in the KIK to bring the education and industry closer.

Concerning the issue on tourism, Retno said there will be a cooperation in the development of tourist destinations and cruise tourism development.

She said the development of cruise tourism will start at the end of this year.

Retno reiterated that the third and fourth issues are related to energy and digital economy.

She said that after the bilateral meeting between President Jokowi and the Singapore prime minister, there will be business forum and then one on one meeting before the president and his entourage return to Jakarta.
