REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Habib M. Rizieq Shihab has made a recorded statement on Nasdem party lawmaker, Viktor Laiskodat, case. His attorney, Sugito Atmo Pawiro, has confirmed the recorded statement was really Habib Rizieq voice. 

"Yes, it was him," he said as confirmed by Republika.co.id, on Saturday (August 12).

First of all, Habib Rizieq said Viktor is an extremist Christian who is racist, fascist and Islamophobic. The High Priest of Islamic Defenders Front believed Christianity never teaches that.

Secondly, Habib Rizieq considered Viktor intended and has bad intention to blaspheme Islamic teaching about caliphate. "Viktor has insulted caliphate and catagorized it as extreme and radical teaching," he said.

Thirdly, Habib Rizieq said Viktor has slandered Islamic teachings about the caliphate by saying the caliphate would dissolve the Unitary State of Republic of Indonesia, close all the churches and force everyone to salat regardless their own religion. 

"Islamic caliphate in Islamic teaching has never taught such a thing. In fact, Islamic caliphate was born from the Islamic teaching that is a blessing for the whole world and its content, protecting all human beings of any tribe, culture and religion," he explained.

Next, Habib Rizieq said Viktor has conducted a dirty political campaign so that the people would not vote for Gerindra, Democrat, PKS and PAN in the regional election nor legislative election under the pretext of being supporters of Muslims who practice Islamic teaching related to caliphate. 

Lastly, Habib Rizieq considered Viktor has provocatively, full of hatred and hostility invited the people to openly hate and hostile and to kill all Muslims who practice Islamic teaching related to caliphate. 

"In other word, Vecky (Viktor's nickname) called for the slaughter of Muslims for practicing their religion related to the caliphate," he reiterated.

Habib Rizieq deplored Nasdem party defended Viktor. He hoped, in order to avoid uproar, Viktor and Nasdem party would apologize to the Muslims after being protested by the public, reported to the Honorable Council of the People's Consultative Council and being advised by the Islamic Council of Ulemas (MUI).

"But, he insisted with his dishonest behaviour. Even, Nasdem party with no shame continued to defend him," Habib Rizieq said.
