REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met the sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's son, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, at the Presidential Palace, here, on Thursday.
"I (Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono) will deliver an invitation and seek his blessings, as tonight we will inaugurate the Yudhoyono Institute," Agus Yudhoyono informed reporters before meeting the president in the Presidential Palace area on Thursday.
He said the invitation to President Jokowi had already been delivered through State Secretary Minister Pratikno, and hopefully, he could come and give his blessings.
"(I bring along) a letter to seek his blessings, and (hopefully), he could meet me directly. Thankfully, the president has time for me today, so we can meet him directly," Agus Yudhoyono remarked.
Apart from delivering the invitation, Agus Yudhoyono said he was also seeking some advice from President Jokowi.
"I also wanted some advice from the president," Agus Yudhoyono stated.
When questioned about whether President Jokowi's youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, was also invited to the upcoming event, Agus Yudhoyono answered in the affirmative, saying he had also invited the children of all former presidents.
"We also invited all children of presidents from the first until the current head of state. We all want the sons of this nation to come together, and we should continue to contribute in a positive manner for our nation and the people," he added.
