REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Police claimed to have examined a key witness with initial E on toxic liquid splashing to senior investigators of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Novel Baswedan. Police said to examined the characteristics of the assailants by the information.
"We had done, we had check the chronology. Did he/she saw the assailants, he/she said for just saw them after going home from dawn praying. When he/she walked, there were somebody in front of Novel's house. The people were looking down. It was still dark, but he/she could see the people,” said the Spokesperson of Jakarta Metro Police Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono at his office at Thursday (June 22).
According to Argo, police would recheck the information. After being sure, police to conduct a physical and face identification to the assailants. “We will recheck, we draw, we make the sketch,” said him.
However, the information could not reveal the puzzles about Novel's assailants briefly. Police shared information with KPK. “We had coordinated with KPK so we have a similarity,” said Argo.
Recently, police had examined more than 50 witnesses in the toxic liquid splashing to KPK senior investigator Novel Baswedan. But, complete identity of the assailants had not been revealed.
Novel was splashed using toxic liquid by two unidentified men after having a dawn prayer in a mosque near his house in North Jakarta on Tuesday (April 11). His face got burnt and his eyes had vision problems. He is still in the intensive treatment in a hospital in Singapore.
