Senior investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Novel Baswedan, is now at Singapore to get medical treatment for his left eye. He was injured after being splashed by strong acid by two assailants on Tuesday (April 11).

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Observer on Criminal Law from Trisakti University, Abdul Fickar Hadjar, argued that police seemed to see the senior investigator of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Novel Baswedan as an offender.

It was showed after Novel had an interview to Time about allegation on the involvement of police general in toxic liquid splashing to him.

"Police's respond to the signal send by Novel Baswedan on his statement showed police wanted to place him as an offender,” said Fickar to Republika.co.id on Sunday (June 18).

Fickar said it was ironic. Novel's statement to Time should be a motivation for police to end the terror to law enforcers.

On Sunday, the Spokesperson of Jakarta Metro Police Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said Novel's statement might bring legal implication. “If Novel said it, please say who the general is, and then prove it,” said Argo.
