Ministry ensures smooth fuel distribution for Lebaran homecoming

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has ensured smooth distribution of fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) ahead of Eid-ul Fitr (Lebaran) that always triggers a mass homecoming of Indonesians keen to celebrate it with relatives.

The distribution process for fuel and LPG was normal, and their stocks were also normal, the ministry noted in a statement here, Monday.

The reserves of premium gasoline will last for 20.65 days; diesel, 25.59 days; Pertalite, 2.47 days; Kerosene, 73.32 days; Pertamax, 19.47 days; Pertamax Turbo, 27.22 days; Pertamina Dex, 36.22 days; LPG, 15.38 days; and Avtur, 28.17 days.

The ministry has also set up an energy task force to ensure adequate supply and smooth distribution of fossil fuel, gas fuel, LPG, and electricity.

The task force is also in charge of anticipating geological disasters that might occur before, during, and after Idul Fitri.

Currently, Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra is in watch-out status (level IV), while 17 other volcanoes are in alert status (level II).

The 17 volcanoes are Mt Karangetang, Mt Lokon, Mt Rinjani, Mt Soputan, Mt Sangeangapi, Mt Rokatenda, Mt Dukono, Mt Ibu, Mt Gamkonora, Mt Gamalama, Mt Banda Api, Mt Semeru, Mt Bromo, Mt Anak Krakatau, Mt Dempo, Mtg Marapi, and Mt
