REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- The Indonesian government has condemned the deadly terror attack during US singer Ariana Grande's pop concert at the Manchester Arena, United Kingdom.
The attack left 22 dead, including children, and injured 59 others.
"The Indonesian government has expressed its deepest condolences to the victims and their families," Foreign Affairs Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi said at the Bogor Palace here, Tuesday.
The minister mentioned that three Indonesian citizens who were present at the blast site had returned home safely.
Based on information from the Manchester police this morning, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device at Grande's pop concert at the Manchester Arena, she remarked.
The Indonesian Embassy in London has assigned a diplomat to obtain information related to the victims directly, she revealed.
"We are also trying to contact hospitals around Manchester," she affirmed.

The Embassy of Indonesia in London has contacted the Indonesian community, including the association of students, to keep abreast of the latest situation, the minister stated.
The minister confirmed that the embassy was in communication with the local authorities to receive the latest information regarding Indonesian citizens.
"We are expecting to receive the latest information from Ambassador Rizal Sukma, Tuesday evening," the minister stressed.
The embassy has issued an advisory for all Indonesian citizens living in London and its surrounding areas to temporarily avoid visiting areas near the Manchester Arena and to follow the orders of the local government, according to its official Twitter account.
