REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian asked the societies not to be provoked by the troubling issue about kidnapping and human organs trafficking spread in social media.

“It is a hoax. We ask the societies not to be worried. The parents should not be worried. Do your activities as usual. Increase your vigilance, but do not be over reactive or panic,” said Tito in his office on Thursday (March 23).

Tito said National Police had checked some the information in some regions like Manado, North Sumatra, and some other areas in Jakarta. “It is not true,” said Tito.

The former Jakarta Police Chief was suspicious the issues were spread by irresponsible parties to make the societies worried.

Previously, an issue of kidnapping followed by human organ trafficking became viral in social media. Netizens were worried in dealing with the issue.
