Embassy appeals to Indonesian citizens in London to avoid five vulnerable areas

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – After a terror in London, Indonesian Embassy appealed the Indonesian citizens to avoid five vulnerable areas and to follow the local police guidance.

"Indonesian Embassy to London appealed the Indonesian citizens to follow England National Police’s guidance to avoid Parliament Square area, Whitehall, Westminster, Lambeth Bridge and Victoria Street, to the Broadway intersection and Victoria Embankment,” said a press release by Indonesian Embassy to London on Wednesday (March 22).

The Embassy asked them to keep their communication to the other Indonesian citizens. They were asked not to do come to the areas. There was also a line prepared for the Indonesian citizens to communicate with the embassy. It was +44 (0) 7881-221235. It could be called when any Indonesian citizens dealt with a problem or knowing other Indonesian citizens dealt with a problem related to an attack.

The press released said the Indonesian Embassy office in London were safe. The consular services operated normally in the office building at 30 Great Peter Street SW1P 2BU.

Previously, there was an attack around the British Parliament Building on Wednesday (March 22). A car hit street walkers around the parliament building. A police was stabbed, dozens of people injured, and five were died during the incident. Police shot the attacker when he tried to enter the House of Parliament.

President Joko Widodo condemned the attack and international people to unite in combating terrorism.  "Indonesia called massive cooperation between countries to combat terrorism,” he said.
