Police to retrace Antasari's case file

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) have received a report from former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Antasari Azhar, on Tuesday (Feb 14). National police would coordinate with Jakarta Police to study the report.

According to the National Police Spokesman Inspector General Boy Rafli Amar this case actually has been tried in court. It was an old case. So to open this case again, police would have to trace the case files that were previously handled Jakarta Police's investigators. "At the time it was handled by investigators of Jakarta Police, so we would retrace Antasari's case files," Boy said.

In addition, police also would seek out a report on the facts submitted by Antasari previously. This report related with old case, so it need coordination. "Disclosure (this case) related the past case, so handling mechanism (the case) is still running," Boy affirmed.

Previously, Antasari visited the Bareskrim and reported number LP / 167 / II / 2017 / Bareskrim on February 14, 2017. Antasari reported the alleged offense in 2009, namely regarding the false allegation and officials who intentionally cheating or make can't be used goods to convince or prove in advance the competent authority as referred to in Article 318 Penal Code in conjunction with Article 417 Penal Code in conjunction with Article 55 the Penal Code.
