REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The sixth Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) claimed he had predicted that the clemency given to the former leader of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Antasari Azhar had a political tendency. He said the release of Antasari had no other purpose but to discredit him.

"What I predicted has happened. It seemed that the clemency of Antasari had political tendency and there was a mission to attack and to discredit me (SBY)," said SBY through his official Twitter account on Tuesday.

He felt the suspicion became stronger after Antasari made a statement which SBY said to be a slander and a nasty accusation. The statement was issued a day before the Jakarta gubernatorial election was held. He guessed that it had been planned. "A day before the Jakarta gubernatorial election (I guessed it has been planned), Antasari hit me with a slander and nasty accusation," twitted him.

He assumed the slander and accusation was a way to tackle Agus-Sylvi in winning the election. As known, his oldest son Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono joined the Jakarta gubernatorial election 2017. "The aimed of the destruction of SBY's name by Antasari and the actors behind ~ to make Agus-Sylvi loose the election tomorrow, February 15 (2017)," he said.

As information, all the twits were signed with apostrophes (*SBY*), meant those were wrote by the Chairman of the Democratic Party.

Previously, the former Head of KPK Antasari Azhar revealed that SBY involved in criminalizing him in 2009. According to him, the story was started when he handled the case of Aulia Pohan. He was Agus' father-in-law who involved in the corruption of Bank Indonesia fund.

Antasari added that SBY delegated businessman and politician Hari Tanoesoedibyo to come to his house and asked him not to detained Aulia Pohan. However, he claimed not to meet the special request by considering the standard operation procedure of KPK. It stated on the procedure that anyone who became a suspect should be detained.
