REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The National Police arrested a gang member involved in Pulomas robbery, namely Ridwan Pane or Marihot Sitorus or Ius Pane, on Sunday (1/1). “Yes, the wanted person, Ius Pane, has been arrested in Medan,” said the Head of Metro Jaya Police Spokesman, Sr. Argo Yuwono, in Jakarta, Sunday (1/1).
According to Argo, Ius Pane was arrested in Antar Lintas Sumatra (ALS) bus pool, at Sisingamangaraja Street, Medan, North Sumatra, at about 7:45 p.m. As planned, he then brought back to Jakarta at the same day.
Ius Pane is one of four member of robbery syndicate in Pulomas, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (December 27, 2016). It resulted in the deaths of six people who were locked in a 1,5 x 1,5 meter square bathroom. In totally, there were 11 victims in the bathroom, including the house owner, Dodi Triono. Six of them were dead, while the others injured.
Two syndicate members were arrested on Wednesday (December 28, 2016), namely Alfins Bernius Sinaga and Erwin Situmorang. Another one, Ramlan Butar Butar, was caught in the same day. He is a recidivist who became the main actor of the robbery.
Ius Pane was included into the National Police wanted list related to the case. The police had been targeted to find him in Medan since Friday (December 30, 2016).The Head of Criminal Bureau of East Jakarta Metro Police, the Superintendent Sapta Maulana, said the surveillance was started after the police got information that Ius Pane was in the ALS bus pool.
Ius was allegedly fled from Bogor to Sumatra on Thursday (26/12). “The bus departs from Bogor to Medan, North Sumatra, since Thursday (26/12)," said Sapta in Jakarta, Sunday (1/1).
The information was followed up immediately. The police ambushed the bus when it was reached Marindal on Sunday morning. Ius allegedly wanted to continue his journey towards Belawan, Simpang Pajak. "The perpetrator planned to shift to another bus, but it was foiled. He didn’t show any resistance," he explained.
The Jakarta Police Chief, Inspector General M. Iriawan said the arrest of Ius Pane was a new year's gift. Previously, he targeted the arrest of all the perpetrators to be finished within a week. "I have targeted for at least a week to fix it all. Thanks to God, they were being arrested within 19 hours and Ius Pane within six days. It's a new year gift," said Iriawan at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta, Sunday (1/1) ,
He explained that Ius was arrested on his way to visit a relative’s house in Medan. It also completed the arrest of all the perpetrators on the robbery, murder, and confinement case in Pulomas.
