REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Central Board of Catholic Students Association of the Republic of Indonesia (PP-PMKRI) reported the Grand Imam of Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Habib Rizieq, to the Jaya Metro Police, on Monday. Rizieq was reported for allegedly harassing the Christians in a video that lasted in 21 seconds spreading via Twitter and Instagram.
In the video, Rizieq said, "If he said, Habib Rizieq, Merry Christmas, what does it means? It means congratulations for the birth of Jesus Christ as the son of God. I replied, lam yalid walam yuulad, God is neither begets nor is born. If God gave birth, who becomes the midwife? “
The presidium of social movement PP-PMKRI, Elmo Lodofikus Roe, said that he and Chairman of the Presidium of PP-PMKRI, Wake Angelo Kako, made a police report at Jakarta Metro Police. "We were making a report. The chairman was inside to make a report. We knew the video from Instagram and then it was spread on Twitter," said Elmo to reporters at the Jakarta Metro Police Headquarter, on Monday.
According to Elmo, by seeing the viral video, he believed it was very clear that Rizieq harassed the Christians. Therefore, said Elmo, PP-PMKRI would also report the first up-loader of the video.
It was known that the video was uploaded on Sunday (Dec 25). It was spread on the Instagram under the account name @fauzi_ahmad_fiiqolby. It remains unknown where the location of Rizieq speech. "Yes, we have seen (the video) from his Instagram (fauzi_ahmad_fiiqolby). Later, we will report him as well, but we report Rizieq first," he said.
It was not known yet whether the report would be accepted by the police.
