REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo retains a high level of public trust despite his perceived role in the blasphemy case currently implicating Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama, a study has concluded.

The study commissioned by Jakarta-based pollster Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) found that a majority of the public still put its faith in Jokowi’s leadership despite rumors of his interference in the ongoing legal process in Ahok’s case.

The study reveals that only three percent of respondents felt disappointed with Jokowi’s performance, even after the massive Nov.4 rally that was rumored to have been targeted at ousting Jokowi.

“This means that the [Nov. 4] demonstration had no impact on Jokowi’s performance as president,” SMRC founder Saiful Mujani told a discussion on Thursday. Conducted from Nov.22 through Nov.28, the study aimed to examine the effects of the anti-Ahok rally on Nov.4. SMRC interviewed 1,220 respondents from areas across Indonesia for the study.

The pollster also said that in the study, the majority of respondents also expressed a high level of faith in public institutions, including the Indonesian Military (TNI), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Attorney General’s Office (AGO), which according to Mujani, had led to its conclusion that “Jokowi’s administration is on track”.

Jokowi’s capability was tested.

The output of Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting’s (SMRC’s) polling has claimed that the type of Jokowi’s leadership role is a right type to manage Indonesia as a plural nation.

However, every leader in Indonesia must have a patient attitude, a humble personality and firmly decision to uphold law enforcement, to maintain political stability through building national harmonization among all circles and to booster economic prosperity.

Mass rally riot on November 4th, 2016 is tainted the image of nation, but after that, Jokowi makes a number of political tour to see and to dialogue with a main politician in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Jokowi continued a tour of meetings with some of the nation’s most influential figures that began last month. Jokowi visited the headquarters of the country’s armed forces as well as Islamic organizations and political parties.

Previously, Jokowi had been met with two high-profile guests at the Presidential Palace, Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto and Golkar Party chairman Setya Novanto.

Given the series of recent events making national headlines, the meeting of the two high-profile politicians triggered speculation over a possible connection with massive public pressure on the authorities to charge Jakarta’s incumbent gubernatorial candidate Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama.

Essentially, during Jokowi-Prabowo meeting last week were shared their commitment to put the interests of the nation first and respect the principles laid out in the state ideology of Pancasila and the motto of “unity in diversity. “Pak Prabowo and I shared our commitment to maintaining the diversity of Indonesia,” Jokowi said.

Whilst, Prabowo added, was aimed at showing the young generation a culture that respected differences and that every leader in the country had a duty to maintain unity and peace.

However, the two meetings that day raise questions about whether Jokowi, who has met a total of five party leaders, will also have a meeting with his predecessor Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who has been throwing a salvo of accusations at Jokowi recently.

Relations between the two became visibly tense earlier this month when Yudhoyono launched a tirade against the government, accusing it of producing a false intelligence report about him masterminding the Nov. 4 rally. Only hours after the rally, Jokowi firmly said he suspected political actors behind the rally, but, to date, he has not divulged their identity.

Besides that, Jokowi has inspected Special Forces, Navy, Mobile Brigade and Army Strategies Command (Kostrad) Headquarters in Jakarta to make sure that Jokowi is a high rank military commander in Indonesia, so that Jokowi doesn’t like insurgency attitude in Indonesia.

Actually, Jokowi’s administration has many of problems from a political problems to an economic problems and from law enforcement problems to social cultural problems, but step by step Jokowi could be handled all those problems with a good coordination among all national circles and a good political communication skill which Jokowi has “naturally”.

The personality of Jokowi Widodo also awesome and amazing because the Indonesian’s president has some of good attitude such as humble, simple, smart, low profile and always smile and his sit down is always reflects “Javanese noble’s sit down”. Perhaps, its a Jokowi’s secret to be a good President in Indonesia.
