REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR - Vice Chairman People's Consultative Assembly Hidayat Nur Wahid sugessted President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to have Friday prayer in National Monument (Monas) on December 2. "If the President is willing, he could have Friday prayer with the mass of 212 rally," he said in a press conference at the People's Consultative Assembly Building on Thursday.

According to Hidayat, it was his own initiative. He thought the condition would turn to a better situation if the President is willing to gather with the mass for praying together. Previously, at the November 4 rally, Jokowi left the Merdeka Palace to oversee airport train at Banten province, in nearby Jakarta.

Jokowi said at first he wanted to join the mass at Istiqlal Mosque for Friday prayer. But due to security measure, he was told not to come.

Meanwhile, leader of the Assembly Az Zikra Ustadz Arifin Ilham asked the people not to blaspheme Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), the suspect of alleged religious blasphemy. "Let's keep asking our right to have a sense of justice and pray for Ahok," he said in Bogor on Thursday.

Arifin said Ahok did not understand Islam. He would like to meet with Ahok if the suspect of alleged religious blasphemy wanted to know the beauty and noble of Islam. "Muslims are moved, touched by the heart when one verse of the Holy Quran is insulted," he said.

On Friday, Arifin will lead the entrouge of 50 busses from Bogor to Jakarta. They will start to depart on 06.00 am. "Our purpose to stage 212 rally is not changed from the previous November 4 rally, we ask the authority to arrest and detain Ahok," he explained.
