Soekarno-Hatta toll tariff to increase in a coming week

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR)'s Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) has confirmed the Soekarno-Hatta toll tariff  increased per October 2016. "PUPR minister already signed the decision letter last night (10/6)," BPJT head Herry TZ said on Friday (7/10) morning.

According to Herry, the toll fee increased by Rp 1,000 and it is linked to inflation in the last two years."Based on regulation, toll tariff should be revised every two years," Herry said.

Herry added, the biennial increase of the Sokarno-Hatta toll tariff will take effect usually a week after the decision letter was signed by minister Basuki Hadikusumo. Meanwhile, as scheduled, Sedyatmo toll road tariff will increase together with the three other toll roads namely Jakarta-Cikampek, Kertosono-Mojokerto section 1, and Surabaya-Gresik. However, Herry did not explain why the three toll roads new tariff has not yet been signed by minister.

Meanwhile, interviewed in another occasion, minister Basuki said the construction of the Trans Sumatra Highway (JTTS) segment Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar, Lampung will be completed as plan. The 140 km toll road was set to finished in 2018.

He said land compensation for JTTS estimated will be complete in the late November or early December 2016. "We are still speeding it up, the construction and land compensation," Basuki said, Thursday (10/7).
