REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Police Chief Gen.Tito Karnavian has ordered police officers to take the role for peaceful local elections campaign. Tito also confirmed police oficers remain neutral politically in simultaneous local elections in 2017.

"This is democration," he said in Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Friday (30/9).

He said it would invite the related parties in the elections in a meeting. The goal the meeting in order to simultaneous elections can run peacefully.

Moreover, Tito wished the local elections could run honestly, fairly, without cheating and people can use their right to vote.

"Don't force all means to win the election," he said.

He also said the National Police's cyber crime team will conduct monitoring to prevent black campaign through social media.

He also condemned the hatred, intimidating, or blasphemous. "If Cyber Crime Unit find the violation, we will take firm action," he said.
