REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PEKANBARU -- The Riau Police's Criminal Investigation have uncovered a case of online prostitution involving underage children.

"We have identified three suspects as pimps," Director General of the Riau Police's criminal investigation Commissioner Surawan said in Pekanbaru, Wednesday (21/9).

Those three suspects are RT aka Edo (20 years), DDS aka Odi (18), and a female initialled N (20). They were arrested on Tuesday (20/9) night at the hotel in Pekanbaru.

The disclosure of Riau online prostitution ring came from a Facebook account named 'Alvin Maulana'.

Then Riau Police cyber patrol team had tracked the account some time ago. Based on investigation, the suspected Facebook account offered underage girls as sex workers.

"The team then undercovered as a customer," he said.

After negotiations with RT had been approved, the suspect brought two girls. RT asked undercovered police Rp 6 million for both underage girls (16 and 17 years).

"At that moment, we arrested RT. Meanwhile the girls as the eye witness," he said.

However, the police are still investigating the case. From the investigation, three suspects is coming from the same network and have been running prostitution for the last six months.

"Total victims of the case are five people. Two of them are minor and the three people are aged 18 and 19 years," he said.
