The suspect says he is a lawyer, not robber

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The police has detained two suspects that intruded a house at  Jalan Bukit Hijau IX Nomor 17, Pondok Indah, South Jakarta. “I'm a lawyer, not robber,” said AJ, one of the suspect to the reporters at Jakarta Police Station on Saturday (9/3).

The other suspect, S, arrived at 15.45 pm local time. AJ was there 15 minutes earlier. S did not say a word.

Earlier, the police recieved a robbery report from a maid who worked at Asep Sulaeman's house. The owner is a retired Senior Vice President of ExxonMobil Affiliates in Indonesia.

After questioning the victim, police said the intruder entered the house at 06.00 am. They followed the maid into the house, put a gun on her, then asked her to call out her employer.

Syaiful, a neighbor, heard someone screaming from the Asep's house. Asep told Syaiful it was a family matters. “He looked panic,” Syaiful said.

The suspect kept the occupants as hostage and threatened them with firearm Walther PPK 32 calibre. The maid managed to sneak out when the suspects asked her to cook them instant noodle.
