REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Vice President Jusuf Kalla said online gay prostitution case was not all about prostitution. The child abuse aspect must also be considered. There were 27 underage children involved as sex worker in Bogor online gay prostitution racket.
“It’s a serious violation of the law,” he said on Friday (9/2). Kalla said law enforcement is one of the key to prevent similar case.
Meanwhile, sociologist from the Ibnu Chaldun University in Jakarta, Musni Umar, said the presence of group of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) can harm the country. Deviant sexual behaviour can spread and cause deadly disease, such as acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS).
Musni added, there were various ways to prevent LGBT movement, such as raising awareness to those who already involved in LGBT.
''Reeducate them, LGBT activity is not right, against religious teaching, custom, and culture,'' Musni said.
The reeducation must involve all components whom directly involved in LGBT life. Reeducation can be done with empowering families, educational institutions, and social institutions.
