KPAI: Gay are targeting children

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), Asrorun Niam Sholeh, said the case of online gay prostitution that offers underage children should rise public awareness. Children are vurnerable to be victims of sexual abuse and sexual perversion. “It has become serious threat,” he said.

Last Tuesday (30/8), a man named AR (41) was arrested for allegedly running an online prostitution ring specializing in underage boys. He was caught in hotel at Puncak, Bogor, West Java. "At the time of the raid, police said some of the children were still wearing junior high school uniform,” Niam said.

This case was a real fact that gays are targeting children. “It can't be justified morally or legally," Niam said to Republika.co.id on Wednesday (31/8). 

Niam added, this incident should be an important message to raise awareness of same-sex abuse. He believed a deviant sexual exploit human dignity. 

AR run his business by offering children with age under 18 years old for homosexuals through social media networks. Bareskrim has secured seven victims, six of them were children and another one was an 18-years old man. For his crime, police charged AR with article related to ITE Law, the Pornography Law, and the Law on Combating Human Trafficking.
