1.2 million tourists visits West Nusa Tenggara

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Culture and Tourism Department (Disbudpar) said at least 1.2 million domestic and foreign tourists have visited NTB until August. July-August were crowded by visitors.

"Tourists arrival at least 1.2 million people and expected this month can add about 200-300 people. Moreover, we will hold Lombok-Sumbawa Cultural Month," Head of NTB Culture and Tourism Department, Lalu M Faozal said to reporters on Friday.

According to him, his department will always encourage tourists by reforming the infrastructure in the tourist destinations.

NTB Disbudpar has prepared a total of 18 packages to improve tourist sector.

He said Ampenan, Mataram City now is developing heritage as tourism branding and completing the facilities, including at Sembalun tourist destination, Port Teluk Nara, Senggigi.

Faozal said the department is making NTB as one of the areas which completing halal certification program for hotels and restaurants.

Head of NTB Regional Tourism Promotion Affan Ahmad said the tourism campaign has targeted Makassar, Malaysia.
