RI's citizens to obtain internship agriculture sector in Japan

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Agriculture Ministry has sent 40 Indonesian citizens from various circles to obtain internship opportunities in agriculture sector in Japan.

"There are 40 interns in Japan, they were dispatched to Japan consisting of students, the general public, which is clearly under the age of 35 years," said Head of Agricultural Training of Agriculture Ministry, Widi Harjono at the opening of "Green House" and "Packing House" at the National Agricultural Training Center in Lembang, West Bandung District, West Java, on Monday.

He said the internship program in Japan for all regions in Indonesia has been done several times each year.

They learned in Japan about how to manage and develop technologies in the country.

"They intern them about managing and developing agricultural technology in Japan," he said.

He explained the fortunate residents who were sent to Japan and followed the selection process have been determined by Agriculture Ministry.

Participants who pass the selection, he added, will get an internship in Japan for eight months to one and a half years depending on the party receiving the apprenticeship program.

"All the internships are funded directly by the Japanese," he said.

He added the purpose of the program is that the Indonesian students who have got internship program can apply their knowledge and develop agriculture in their respective regions.
