REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provincial government has ensured that the area free from the distribution of fake vaccines. The regional government asked to raise awareness about it by involving all local administrations and local municipalities in the province.
"Make sure there is no pathway for vaccines and counterfeit medicine to enter the NTB," said NTB Governor TGH M Zainul Majdi after receive the Head of Drug and Food Monitoring Agency (BBPOM) I Gede Nyoman Suandi in Mataram, Tuesday (28/6).
He added, the distribution of fake vaccines in some areas has raised concerns of various parties, include in NTB. Therefore, he ordered that cases of fake vaccines to note by all parties, not just the provincial government but also in the districts/cities in NTB. For that, he hoped, in the future if possible, BPPOM periodically to conduct an investigation of the drug ingredients are consumed by the communities. Besides, he said, manage the drug distribution lines that circulate in the public.
"The local government, include the Department of Health and the Department of Trade and Industry has obligation to make sure the certainty of legality of drugs or vaccines are consumed by the public, not endanger people's health," he said.
He also asked the public and relevant agencies raise awareness, not only in the case of the circulation of fake vaccines as happens in some areas in Indonesia, but also include drug trafficking.
"And public order (Satpol PP) can participates regularly monitor the legality, distribution and use of drugs, include traditional medicine and to educate the communities," he said.
