REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) conveyed birthday messages 489th to the city of Jakarta and all its citizens.
He said at the ceremony in commemoration of the anniversary (HUT) 489th in Monas Square, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/6).
"Happy birthday, Jakarta. To entire residents of Jakarta, I thank you for your dedication and participation that have been given to the city of Jakarta," Ahok said in his speech at Monas Square.
He added, Jakarta City anniversary this year celebrated more modest, because this event happen at the same time with the fasting month of Ramadan.
"But, we still give an opportunity for the public and private parties who want to celebrate the anniversary of Jakarta this time," Ahok said.
He also invite whole of societies to play active role to build and keep the Jakarta city. So, Jakarta as capital city of Indonesia continues to grow and develop in every way.
"The spirit of togetherness to act and make changes is a key word.
Thus, it will create space and opportunity for the residents of Jakarta," Ahok said.
He expect all of series of events in commemoration of the 489th anniversary of Jakarta Capital City will continue to motivate the people to participate in and contribute more active to build Jakarta.
"Once again I congratulate the anniversary of Jakarta City. Happy fasting to all Muslims," Ahok said.
