REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Transportation Minister Ignatius Jonan said the biggest challenge in the homecoming flows of Eid 1437 Hijri is the use of private vehicles, especially motorcycles.

"The phenomenon of homecoming by motorcycles is remarkable thing," he said in Jakarta, Monday (20/6).

Then, he continued, accident of motorcycles becomes the highest number of traffic accidents when compared to public transport modes other than land transport. He continued, the reason of accidents is consists of many factors, such as inadequate public transportation to the destination of travelers. And the central government, feel little bit hard to face this case because the authority of transportation decided by regional government in each regions.

Jonan added, in the 2017 draft state budget (RAPBN), he want to discuss the possibility of subsidy for the transport of inter-city, inter-province (AKAP) buses.
