REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo has announced his decision about the new police chief candidate Commissioner General (Komjen) Tito Karnavian to the societies. The President has proposed Tito as the single candidate for the post of police chief.
"It is true that on yesterday (15/6), I have been handed over, delivered a letter requesting approval of police chief candidates to the House of Representatives (DPR). And I proposed single candidate named Commissioner General Tito Karnavian," Jokowi said at the Jakarta, Thursday (16/6).
Jokowi choose Tito because he believed Tito has the ability that qualified to lead the Indonesian Police. Evidently, said Jokowi, Tito has won the award for the best graduate of the Police Academy in his generation.
"Everyone already knows he got Adhi Makayasa," he said.
With these capabilities, Jokowi believe Tito can increase police professionalism and improve the quality of law enforcement in Indonesia. Jokowi also hope the House of Representatives can immediately process his letter about candidate for police chief.
