REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- As many as five persons believed to be construction workers were killed due to the collapse of Kokok Tojang bridge in West Nusa Tenggara Provincial District of East Lombok on Tuesday afternoon.
"The Search and Rescue (SAR) team of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has evacuated the five dead victims," public relations officer of the Basarnas Putu Cakra Ningrat stated here on Tuesday night.
The dead victims were identified as Khairul Anwar (35), Yus (30), Mul (30), Yasir (19) Akmal (45), Cakra Ningrat cited.
In addition, another five persons sustained serious injuries, he said, informing that they were identified as Zainul (15), Abdul Kadir (17), Irfan (50), Junaidi (50) and Edi (36).
All the victims were rushed to the Selong hospital, Cakra Ningrat said, noting that all the victims were crushed in sand material mixed with stone, cement and iron concrete as well as wood and bamboo.
