REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIKEAS -- Former Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono reposed his trust in the government of President Joko Widodo to develop the country.
"We trust President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla to develop the country. We pray that the current government can carry out its duties properly," Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, also known as SBY, told former members of his United Indonesia Cabinet here on Monday.
Yudhoyono held a friendly meeting with the former United Indonesia Cabinet members. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, during his two terms of office from 2004-2009 and 2009-2014 had led the presidential cabinets of Indonesia.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla also attended the event along with his wife.
Yudhoyono pointed out that the United Indonesia Cabinet was a non-political community and its aim is to maintain a feeling of brotherhood.
"We have made a lot of effort to develop the country. If there are things that we were not able to realize, these may be seen as our weakness as human beings," he added.
On the occasion, Vice President Jusuf Kalla expressed his appreciation for the inputs given by SBY to the current administration.
The vice President remarked that the government has received inputs from many parties for the betterment of the nation.
The event was attended by members of the United Indonesia Cabinet, namely National Education Minister M Nuh, Transportation Minister EE Mangindaan, Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo, National Military Commander Moeldoko, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Fadel Muhammad, Minister of Youth and Sports Roy Suryo, and Minister of Law and Human Rights Amir Syamsuddin.
