West Java and South Australia explore potential of joint business

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- West Java province with the State of South Australia held joint business forum on Wednesday (1/6).

This forum was held to increase cooperation in various aspects between the two regions. During the meeting, the two areas were invited to invest on each other. Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar said, this forum to introduce the excellence and economic potential of West Java in various aspects. Such as, the wealth of natural resources, education, agriculture, fisheries, tourism, art and culture. And also the contribution of the manufacturing industry in West Java, which can give contribution to 60 percent nationally.

This forum is follow up of joint working groups meeting between the provincial government of West Java and South Australia on 15-18 Novermber, 2015 and in Bandung.

Comprises of nine aspects cooperation, like agriculture, fisheries, industry and trade, investment, health, government, education, tourism, art and culture.

Deddy added the business forum between two regions  is the implementation of cooperation in trade and investment aspects. Deddy hopes, this forum could be good momentum and positive impact on the relations between both regions. Besides, it could be forum to discuss the ideas and breakthroughs as form of innovation for effective cooperation relations.

He added, this forum was very good momentum and strategy to be best utilized. Especially, to increase cooperation in the sectors of economy, trade, business, and

investment.

"So we also invite South Australia to invest in West Java," he said on Wednesday. Minister of Trade and Investment South Australia Hamilton-Smith acknowledged; the South Australian Government is very keen to be able to give contribution in West Java.

Smith believed that there are opportunities for South Australian companies to contribute to economic growth in Indonesia. Because, South Australia has advantages and potentials in various sectors that can be cooperated with West Java. Like education and research, art and culture, industrial, technology, agriculture, food and wine, and also the defense industry and manufacturing, infrastructure and professional services, tourism, arts and culture, the government cooperation, and fashion.
