Middle East tourists picky on lawful food

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Foreign tourists each has criteria that cannot be changed. One of them is food.

While Middle East tourists care about lawful (halal) food. They are quite meticulous and never accept them immediately without know whether it is lawful or not.

"As a Muslims they are very strict on kosher food," said Deputy Assistant Market Development of Europe, Middle East, America and Africa, Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia, Nia Niscaya in official statement to Republika.co.id on Wednesday (25/5).

Nia explained, one of Indonesia's excellences is food. Indonesia already have kosher food.

"Indonesia already has lawful food. It just needs to be improvements slowly," Nia added.

The Ministry of Tourism held activities of Familization Trip (FamTrip) with 14 travel agents from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Cairo, Egypt, in 22-28 May 2016. Famtrip aimed to explore more tourist objects in the area of Jakarta, Bandung and ends in Bali.
