REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LHOKSEUMAWE - Perpetrators of violence on children in the city of Lhokseumawe, Aceh, was dominated by adults. There are 14 cases of violence on children in Lhokseumawe in period 2015-2016.

"The perpetrators of physical violence on child is dominated by adults, neither parents, teachers and other adults. While the others done by fellow age," said Head of the Child Protection Agency on Women's Empowerment Child Protection Family Welfare (BP2PA and KS) Lhokseumawe Mirda Ihsan in Lhokseumawe on Monday (23/5).

Mirda added number of cases of violence against children variously, ranging from sexual abuse, beatings and child exploitation.

"A number of child abuse cases, reported by the victim and also parents of victim," Mirda stated.

Mirda said, the violence done by parents reach four cases, while sexual harassment, as many as three cases. As for cases of beatings by other adults, total of three cases. The abduction of children as many as one person.

"Generally, children who have experienced violence dominated by female sex and average age above 10 years. For sexual harassment cases, the offender is mostly done by not foreign people and collegaues of victim," Mirda added.

Mirda added, to handling of number of violence cases on children are done in accordance with the needs of the problem. There are efforts of medical, psychological treatment, and also there are continued into the legal process.

"But mostly is proceed to the legal process," Mirda explained.
