REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALU -- A joint team of Palu and Central Sulawesi immigration officers has detained five Chinese citizens working in the Mpanau steam power plant in Palu for alleged visa violation.
"They are now being detained at the Palu immigration office for further investigation," Erna Yunanti Murni of the immigration office stated here on Tuesday.
The Chinese nationals were arrested for suspected violation of Indonesia's immigration law, she noted.
The detained workers were identified as Wang Tiejun (44), Jin Zhng Yong (33), Wu Hai too (30), Li Shen Lei (29), and Yu Long (26).
"They are all Chinese nationals," she remarked.
Two weeks ago, the Palu immigration office had also detained two Chinese for working in the Poboya gold mine illegally.
The two detainees are Yin Shanhua, born on June 4, 1960, and Wen Xing Chang, born on September 9, 1956.
Their visas had expired, and they might soon be deported.
