Sweden to implement projects in Palu

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALU -- The administration of Boras city, Sweden will soon implement four international projects which were proposed by the administration of Palu city, Central Sulawesi province through a cooperation agreement that was established in 2008.

"The Boras city administration has visited the locations for the international projects," the Mayor of Palu, Hidayat said here Saturday.

The international projects are the development of environmental departments in two elementary schools, and the development of electrical energy from household waste at a landfill.

Two other projects are the development of electrical energy from human waste at a human waste processing site, and the development of a forest park and arboretum as an urban forest.

During the visit to the four locations, the Boras city administration also surveyed the potentials of bays, rivers, and valleys in Palu, Hidayat said.

"They surveyed the bay and river tourist sites, also the valleys in a mountainous area in Palu," he said.

The administration of Boras will prepare a development concept to be discussed with the Palu administration, he added.

"I hope there will be a concrete step to implement the concept soon," the mayor said.
