REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- British Finance Company, UK Export Credit Insurance and Finance (UK Export Finance) is interested to support the infrastructure construction in Indonesia.

Minister for State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Rini Soemarno acknowledged the offer by the form of a loan of 1 billion US dollars, equivalent to approximately Rp 13,4 trillion. Rini explained the loan is likely to be used by PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.

"We have not talked yet, but they are very support, just over 1 billion US dollars. With UK's money, possibly Garuda will use it," said Rini on Wednesday.

Furthermore, she added, these loans are offered UK Export Credit Insurance and Finance in the form of export credit to finance investment activities of the provided working capital.

"So they offer to finane export credits, not for 100 percent of UK's goods. At least 20 percent would do. So that's what we see," she said.

She continued, apart from UK, Indonesia also received a loan from the German Development Bank, KfW, that will be used to finance the construction of electricity infrastructure by PT PLN (Persero) and some other infrastructure financing.

"They (KfW) has given [loan] to the PLN, so they also offer to Pelni and other infrastructure," she said.
