Council of NTB supports anti-LGBT bill

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA --  West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Legislative Council (DPRD) supported a number of factions in the House of Representatives (DPR) that initiate the anti-Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) bill (RUU). It is expected the law can provide a view to the public about LGBT issue which is seen as social illness and should be resolved immediately.

"The plans to initiate anti-LGBT Law should be directed to these disease problems can be resolved and treated," said Deputy Chairman of the Parliament NTB, Abdul Hadi told Republika after a working visit to Parliament DI Yogyakarta on Friday (4/3).

According to him, the deviant behavior is a problem that emerged since the first. Therefore, the behavior is a social illness should be treated immediately. Therefore, it is feared the behavior will affect others and do not let the behavior evolved.

He said that all communities, educational institutions should take on the role to anticipate the problem. Related to the budget for settle the deviant behavior could be through the budget that is already available such as in the Department of Social Welfare or Health Department regarding mental health issues.

Abdul Hadi added LGBT behavior trend in NTB are not growing rapidly. However, people should anticipate and be alert if the behavior occurs in the immediate environment.
