Purwakarta will hold world martial art festival

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Purwakarta Regency Government, West Java, will hold world martial art festival. The participants predicted to reach 100 people from six countries. The countries involved in this martial art show that is China, Japan, Korea, India, Brazil, and Indonesia.

The event will be held on 1 and 2 April. Other than a hundred participants the festival will be enlivened by two actors, Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian.

"This festival is targeted to minimum 4.000 attendees," Purwakarta Regent Dedi Mulyadi said on Friday (26/2).

According to Dedi other than to attract domestic tourist and international, this event have own agenda. Dedi want Indonesia martial art can be equal with the world martial art, especially, martial art from Sunda.

With the festival, martial arts from Indonesia that represent by Sunda can recognize in the world. Moreover, young generation love more local martial arts. N Aldian Wahyu Ramadhan
