REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vehicle age restriction in Jakarta will begin. The restriction is based on the age of vehicle, DKI Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama said.

Public transport services will much better with the restriction, says Governor familiarly called as Ahok. Actually, Ahok didn't want to restrict the vehicle based on age.

But, Ahok said, the restriction has been regulated in regional regulations (Perda). So, everbody shall follow those rules.

"Vehicle age restriction has start. In general, ideally based on vehicle road worthiness (KIR). But, Perda already said restriction by age. So, for me it's difficult if restricted by KIR," Ahok said on Friday (18/2).
