REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice president of the republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) assessed revisions of the anti-terrorism law will not make the security forces act arbitrarily. According to him, revisions on a number of points aim to speed up the detection acts of terrorism.
"Depending on what will be revised. We only revise a few things in order to more rapidly detect act of terrorism. It doesn't mean everyone can be arrested," JK said on Friday (22/1) at Vice President Office, Jakarta.
JK believed revisions of anti-terrorism law terrorism will increase alertness and security of the country. He also said government will not build special prison for terrorist.
According to him, a special prison for terrorist would not solve the problem. Even, he observed existence of that prison could make the situation more dangerous. However, the government must find ways to tight state security
"So, as I said before, we won't make a special prison for terrorist like Guantanamo. In fact, it makes concentration from state security centralized at one place," JK added.
