REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The government of Indonesia supports the implementation of the nuclear deal, as per the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), on Iran's atomic program, the Foreign Affairs Ministry's spokesperson has said.

Arrmanatha Nasir, the spokesperson, said in a press statement made available to Antara here on Tuesday that the JCPOA's implementation indicated the success of the diplomatic approach pursued by Iran and P5+1 (China, France, Germany, Russia, the UK, the US, and the European Union).

Indonesia appreciated the dialogue and the negotiation process between the two sides as they sought a peaceful solution and hoped that the plan of action could be implemented smoothly, based on the agreement.

The JCPOA should turn out to be a new chapter for Iran, enabling it to contribute in a major way to world peace and prosperity, Nasir added.

After implementation of the JCPOA, Iran is planning to make good use of ties with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran's atomic chief said.

Quoting the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), the Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi said that over the past twelve years, his organization has lost the opportunities for technical cooperation with the IAEA, Salehi urged the IAEA's director general, Yukiya Amano, to take new measures to expand cooperation between Iran and the international atomic agency.

As part of the JCPOA, Iran has filled the Arak nuclear reactor's core part, Calandria, with concrete to decommission it. Earlier, China, the United States, France, the UK, Russia and Germany had agreed to participate in redesigning and construction of the modernized reactor.
