Minister of Transportation issues trace permit of Jakarta-Bandung fast train

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Transportation Minister Ignatius Jonan has issued trace permit of Jakarta-Bandung fast train.

Head of Communications and Public Information of Ministry of Transportation JA Barata, in a written statement said, the trace permit was stated the Decree of Minister of Communications No. KP.25 of 2016 on Determination of Trace Line of Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train in Tegalluar-Halim.

"The permit was proposed by PT Kereta Api Cepat Indonesia China (PT KCIC). Minister set permission of trace after all conditions were met, including recommendation from governments of province, cities and counties crossed by the railway line," he said, Wednesday (13/1).

Barata explained, determination of trace was an important step in implementation of Presidential Decree No. 107 of 2015 on Acceleration of Infrastructure Construction of Express Train Jakarta and Bandung.

"Railway line of Jakarta-Bandung fast train has a length of 142.3 kilometers, with four stations and one depot," he added.

The four stations are Halim, Karawang, Walini, and Tegalluar. Operating facilities is in Tegalluar Station. He said, PT KCIC also has proposed application to Minister of Transportation to get a determination as Business Entity of Railway Infrastructure Operator.

One of the requirements is that, PT KCIC must be met paid up capital of at least Rp 1 trillion that can not be withdrawn by shareholders.

"PT KCIC should also get a permit the construction," he explained.

PT KCIC must submit Detail Engineering Design (DED) and study of the environmental impact analysis (EIA) from Ministry of Environment and Forestry, to get allowance.
