This is why 'Kun Anta' song deserves favour

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The song 'Kun Anta,' sung by Kuwait Humood Alkhudher, was popular last year. Until early 2016, dubsmash and lipsync of 'Kun Anta' song kept popping up in Youtube, mostly sung by Indonesian and Malaysian citizens. Why was the song, which has meaning 'be yourself', favored by netizens?

Measha, chief editor at datdut.com, in her writing, explained that this song gives a strong message for younger generation. "The main message of 'Kun Anta' song is that we have to become ourselves," she wrote.

According to her, younger generations are very vulnerable to be affected by the environment, especially talkative 'epidemic'. "The message is fit and suitable for young people who live in the age of social media," said the veiled woman who also Korean movie fan.

She added, this song emphasized that young people must be convinced by being themselves. Then they could get a happy and successful life. "It certainly does not mean that young people distance themselves from social interaction and become personal selfish," she said.
