REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SERANG -- Banten Governor Rano Karno is ready to undergo questioning by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a witness in a case of alleged corruption related to capital investment in the creation of Bank Banten.

"God willing, I am ready to undergo questioning on Thursday at around 10.00 a.m.," he said here on Tuesday.

Rano will be questioned as a witness in the case against former director of PT Banten Global Development, identified by initials RT, who has been named as a suspect in the case.

The Banten governor said he had met RT once before the case came to light.

At the meeting, RT disclosed that several members of the Banten provincial legislative council had asked for a sum of money.

"At that time, I had told him not to listen to their requests," he said.

Besides RT, the anti-graft body has also named two other suspects in the alleged bribery case. They are two members of the legislative council, identified by their initials as SMH of the Golkar Party faction and FLTS of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) faction.
