REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said data of Indonesia's economic growth last year was over public expectations. Compared to other countries, decline of Indonesia's economic growth was not significant.
President Jokowi estimated economic growth between 4.7 or 4.8 percent on the last year. It means, it was lower than in 2014, which reached five percent.
"Ours just dropped from 0.3 to 0.2 percent. While other countries fell from 1.5 to 3 percent," said Jokowi in Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), Jakarta, Monday (4/1).
The President believed, if the public and businesses were optimistic, the economic condition could be better. The President said, realization of the State Budget in 2015 was doubted by the public.
The consensus stated, tax revenue was estimated at below 70 percent to 80 percent. In fact, the closed state revenues reached 84.7 percent or Rp 1,491 trillion. Meanwhile, tax revenue reached 83 percent or Rp 1,235.8 trillion.
In addition, non-tax revenues reached 93.8 percent or Rp 252.4 trillion. Then, he added, the uptake of government spending reached 91.2 percent.
President continued, inflation rate was only 3.3 percent in the last year. In fact, the inflation rate reached 8.3 percent in 2014.
