REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung revealed that the plenary cabinet meeting will be held to discuss economic issues, such as the ASEAN Economic Community, Millennium Development Goals, and the economic growth in 2016.

"Today, we will hold the plenary cabinet meeting to discuss three topics," Anung noted here on Wednesday.

Anung said Indonesia could withstand economic pressures in 2015 due to the economic policy package that had been issued.

"Even when the Federal Reserve had raised its interest rates, the Indonesian Composite Index (IHSG) was able to increase," he pointed out.

Anung remarked that the rupiah exchange rate had strengthened, which indicated an improvement in Indonesian economy.

"For sure, the government considers and keeps track of certain number of issues related to fuel oils (BBM). The president signed the regulation on refinery development yesterday," he said.

He affirmed that the government had given an opportunity to the private sector and state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina to build an oil refinery in Indonesia.

"This breakthrough is expected to lower the fuel price. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said will calculate and evaluate the price of fuel," he remarked.

With regard to the cabinet reshuffle, Anung noted that it fell under the authority of the president.

"It is the president's prerogative. The president always gathers inputs from the society, observers, and parties," he added.
