REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Level of public confidence to the House of Representatives (DPR) continued to decline. This was due to many problems that were occurred among members of the House.

Executive Director of Populi Center Nico Harjanto revealed, public confidence to the institution was in the low level. According to him, survey showed that public still considered DPR as the most corrupt institution in Indonesia.

"The confidence level is very low. DPR is still considered to be the most corrupt institution," said Nico, Saturday (19/12).

He explained, survey has been conducted by Populi Center showed that the level of public confidence to DPR even not reached 20 percent. If the House did not immediately make improvements in performance, both individual and institutional, then the confidence level would continue to decline.

Furthermore, Nico stated level of public confidence in the leadership of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla, was still fairly high. The level of public confidence in their leadership was still more than 67 percent.

Unfortunately, that high level of public confidence was not transmitted to the government institutions, although the confidence level was increased in a number of names of ministers. According to Nico, improvements still have to be done by all parties, so that the level of public confidence could continue to rise.
